He's always been supremely classy and dignified. He was a fantastic president. The only issue I ever had with Obama was when the Syria conflict first appeared and he and John Kerry put on a very dramatic opera using speculative information and false pictures to gain public support for an all out attack on Assad. It was all too reminiscent of the "WMD" shit from Bush (who was also the victim of the information and guidance given to him by his "trusted advisors"). I was so proud of the American people for questioning the hell out of the case against Assad and not immediately giving buy in. Opinion polls made the difference, and to my knowledge, that's the first time ever those tactics did not work to sway public opinion. In hindsight, perhaps intervention was necessary...but government needs to stop lying to do things that are needed. That's not going to work in this modern age of information.

At any rate, Barack Obama took the position of President during critical times. I felt like the GOP mailed it in by pairing McCain and Palin. I figured the projections were too dire to dare attach your brand to. Not only that, but the criticism from a newly born social media and "independent journalist" landscape was unlike anything any other American president has ever had to endure.

He looked tired today. Grey and withered. He humbly stated his accomplishments and walked away into the sunset.

Much respect.
