tl:dr--it's a bitch finding parts up here whether they're new or junkyard parts

Spent two weeks looking for a rear end for one of my trucks, the year is in the weird era of Daimler-Chrysler and it's also an offroad package differential. I can buy a "new" (remanufactured) one from Missouri for 2550 but found a junkyard one in Oregon through a guy in Tennessee that ended up not even being for my truck but the SUV model of it (the problem being I'd have to cut and weld on it because Durangos are wider and the spring mounts aren't in the same location). The biggest problem here is shipping, everything with any kind of weight to it and/or has a oddball shape or length costs more to ship up here. I'm just getting the thing rebuilt instead for about 1700 that way if the thing is screwed up I can take it back to the rebuild shop.

Anyone have any suggestions for the future on finding parts for up here? Canada maybe?
